Arguing With Our Humanity

Arguing With Our Humanity

You’ve undoubtedly heard of this quote by Teilhard de Chardin: “We are not human Beings having a spiritual experience. We are spiritual Beings having a human experience.”

This quote is a great favorite of spiritual students and seekers everywhere. We have taken sayings and teachings like this to mean that our “real” identity is as a spiritual Being, that our Soul is who we “truly” are. But the last time I checked, my physical body was pretty real to me!

It seems to me that many of us are working so hard on embracing our spirituality that we are struggling with our humanity! Sure, our physical experience may be temporary. Some call our physical existence the ultimate illusion, which we are here to transcend. And yet, we all chose this human experience as our vehicle for growth, learning, and creating.

A lot of us spiritually-minded folks are trying very hard to apply spiritual principles to our human existence. We try to live through concepts of infinite abundance, of effortless manifestation, of unconditional flow of energy between all living things. But our human existence is defined by effort, conditionality, and limitation. We can try to argue with this reality … but arguing with reality means we lose every time!

Our human existence is conditional. In order stay alive, there are things we MUST do.

We must breathe.

We must eat and drink.

We must sleep and seek shelter.

All of these things require effort. Just staying alive requires taking action.

Our human existence is also limited. There is only so much of which our human body is capable of, no matter how much we push these limits. The fact is – there are always limits.

Now that we have awareness of our spiritual aspect, we may crave the ease, unconditionality and abundance of the spiritual realm. But we cannot deny our human existence – not while we are incarnated. And many who try to live as spiritual Beings in a human experience seem to be arguing with their human reality. This inevitably manifests itself as very “human” lack – a lack of physical health, financial abundance, or relationships.

What if, instead of trying to transcend human conditionality and limitation, we embraced our humanity with the same enthusiasm that we have for our spirituality? What if we reveled in our ability to take action as much as we delight in the whispers of our intuition? What if we valued our effort (and let’s face it – human life is effort!) as much as we did the miracles of manifestation we can witness in our lives? Most importantly – what if we learned to appropriately translate concepts such as Divine Abundance into our human existence?

The great shift towards higher consciousness is not about leaving our humanity behind. It’s about embracing both aspects of our existence into seamless integration, where one is a clear and perfect reflection of the other.

Are you embracing spiritual law while arguing with human reality? I’d love to hear what you think! As always, please leave your comments on my blog.

Manifesting and Dimensional Rules of Creation

This article is written by Andrea Hess (www.empoweredsoul.com). She has written several very interesting articles about the spiritual aspect of our being versus the physical aspect that we experience in the world. It’s a unique perspective, and I hope you find it thought-provoking.

Manifesting and Dimensional Rules of Creation

It never ceases to amaze me how accessible and mainstream spiritual development has become in the last decade.  People are talking about energy and the Law of Attraction everywhere.  Consciousness in our society is expanding rapidly.  Many of us are evolving by leaps and bounds!

However, for continually evolving spiritual seekers, a new problem has emerged as higher states of consciousness open up for us.  We now have a direct experience of the ease and effortless existence of the spiritual realm!

That should be a good thing, right?  Yes … except that we are still HERE, in this clunky, cumbersome third-dimensional experience that is the physical plane.  In the third dimension, we have physical matter and “stuff” to deal with – like money, travel arrangements and laundry.  We are stuck in the limitation of linear time, of which there never seems to be enough.  We have to breathe and eat.  And if we’re very tuned in to the effortlessness of the spiritual plane, seeing to our physicality can seem awfully tiresome.

At least in the fourth dimension, where our thoughts and emotions reside, we can time-travel.  Energy is less dense here.  We can easily visit the past or possible futures at the speed of thought.  We can live in our imagination, our goals and plans.  This is the realm of perception and belief, where all change first begins.

At the fifth-dimensional level, the perceptions of time and space fall away completely.  This is the place from which we receive our intuitive “downloads” and inspiration, where we can connect with each other on the energetic information super-highway that are the Akashic Records.  This is an infinite playground where all is available and interconnected, where we begin living in Divine Abundance.

Every dimension has its own rules of creating change.  And this is where we, as highly conscious Beings, can get ourselves into a bit of trouble!  It’s so very tempting to apply the rules of the fifth-dimension, with its effortlessness and easily created change, to our third-dimensional experience!

Why change our diets when we can go for energy healing work?

Why take action when we could just ask for spiritual assistance in manifesting what we want?

Why reach out to real people when our Spirit Guides are such excellent company?

One of the most important questions to ask ourselves is: At what dimensional level am I trying to create a new result?

If you are trying to create a new state of health, or financial abundance, or a romantic relationship, that’s a third-dimensional result.  Action is required.

If you are creating a new belief system or learning something new, or simply wanting to feel better, that’s a fourth-dimensional result.  A shift of perception, of thinking, is required.

If you want to tune into your Divine purpose, communicate with your Higher Self, and develop your intuition, that’s a fifth-dimensional result.  A shift in consciousness is required.

Each dimension has its own “rules” for creating new results.  Have a look at what you are creating in your life, or trying to create.  Are you playing by the appropriate rules for the dimensional result you want?

Tuning into Emotional Frequencies

I did a quick google search on Tuning Into Emotional Vibrations and came across some interesting articles. Here is one by Robert Burney, his website is: http://joy2meu.com

The True Nature of Love – Love as a Vibrational Frequency

“What is so wonderful, what is so Joyous and exciting, is that we now have clearer access to our Spiritual Higher Consciousness than ever before in recorded human history.  And through that Higher Self to the Universal Creative God-Force. Each and every one of us has an inner channel.  We now have the capability to atone – which means tune into – to atone, to tune into the Higher Consciousness.  To tune into the Higher vibrational emotional energies that are Joy, Light, Truth, Beauty, and Love.”

“The dance of life for humans has been grounded in shame and fear, empowered by belief in separation, lack, and scarcity.  These are lower vibrational emotions and beliefs based on the three dimensional illusion that humans experience as reality.  As long as the dance of humans harmonizes to music – vibrational emanations – that are rooted in shame, fear, and separation the only way to do the dance is destructively.”

“Love is a vibrational frequency.  When we can tune into that higher energy vibration we are closer to out True Selves.  In The Goddess we are LOVE.  LOVE is home.  Humans have never felt comfortable in this lower vibrational illusion – we know from a very early age that something is wrong with this place.  So we try to alter our consciousness – raise our vibrational frequency.”

Your Perspective Determines Your Reality

This is an article I found recently that I liked a lot. I resonate strongly with what the author, Michael Beck, has to say. Hope you enjoy it!

For as long as I’ve been a professional I’ve heard that a person’s attitude makes a difference. You’ve probably heard all the cute sayings about attitude – “Your Attitude Determines Your Altitude”, Attitude is Everything”, “The Only Thing You Can Control is Your Attitude”. Every sales manager talks about attitude. Every leader talks about attitude. Every entrepreneur hears about attitude.

Let’s face it. No one is against having a positive attitude. It’s kind of like mom and apple pie. There’s nothing to be against. But anyone who has worked with me knows that I don’t go with the crowd. I tend to be an independent thinker and as such, often see things differently than others. Over my professional career, I’ve been a student of human nature, and one of the areas I make note of is attitude.

Attitude has an interesting dynamic around it. I’ve observed, for instance, that people with a positive attitude tend to hang out together and people with a negative attitude also hang out together. Of course, each group tends to support the views of each other person within their group. The positive people see themselves as optimistic and forward thinking. The negative people see themselves as realists. Additionally, each group tends to view the other group somewhat unfavorably. The people in the positive group tend to look at the negative group as complainers, while the negative group tends to view the positive group as naïve, unrealistic, and/or overly “cheery”. I guess it’s a matter of your perspective. Each group feels they have an accurate view of reality – or more precisely, THE accurate view of reality.

One thing I’m sure of in life is that a person’s perspective determines their reality. And here is where these two groups begin to differ. I’ve noticed very different behaviors from people depending on their attitude. You see, attitude not only determines how a person sees things, but also affects their consequent actions as well. Our attitude determines our perspective, which in turn determines our reality. How does attitude and perspective affect our reality? Let me share a story as an example of how this happens. A number of years ago I had a friend who became focused on the potential problems surrounding the change of the millennium (Y2K). As he began to “research” the topic, the foretelling of upcoming disasters became his reality. In fact, the more he listened to radio talk shows the more he accepted their topics as “reality”. The more articles he read on the subject the more he accepted the writings as “reality”. The more websites he visited about Y2K, the more he accepted their perspectives as “reality”. By the time the end of December came around, he had stockpiled water and food, and was pleading with me to move up to the mountains to escape the impending terrorist attacks, falling planes, food shortages, crashing cars, and lack of water. January 1, 2000 came and went without incident. He never spoke to me again.

Obviously none of us are worried about Y2K any longer, but this story underlines how our attitude definitely affects how we conduct ourselves and our life. Our attitude creates our reality. But be clear, it’s OUR reality, not THE reality. I’ve observed that positive people tend to view challenges as speed bumps while negative people see them as obstacles standing in the way of success. Positive folks often face the same challenges as negative folks, except that negative people have their thoughts and energies focused on the problems and the consequences of the problems, while the positive people focus their thoughts and energies on succeeding despite the problems. I’ve observed that negative people often adopt a defeatist mindset, taking on the role of a victim, while positive people often adopt a solution-oriented mindset and set about creating their own opportunities. Consequently, I’ve come to understand that having a positive attitude indeed makes a significant difference not only in a person’s level of success, but also in their enjoyment of their life. It even determines whether they succeed at all.

But here’s the unusual thing… NO ONE VIEWS HIMSELF OR HERSELF AS A NEGATIVE PERSON!

People who are negative view themselves as “realistic”. (Wait a minute… isn’t “reality” a matter of perspective?) So the challenge is to determine whether you’re a “negative” person.

Here are some guidelines:
If you feel that your course in life and business is determined by others, then you need to adjust your attitude so you can shift your reality.

If you feel that the cards are often stacked against you, then you need to adjust your attitude so you can change your reality.

If you feel that your company, manager, agents, and/or clients don’t support you, then you need to adjust your attitude so you can change your reality.
We each have the ability and power to literally change our reality.
How does one turn a negative attitude into a positive one? The same way someone with a positive attitude maintains it. You need to eliminate the negative inputs, influences, and factors in your life and introduce positive ones. We’re bombarded with messages throughout the day and night. Some of them are good and some of them are just plain bad for you. We get “messages” from family, friends, co-workers, radio, newspaper, TV, music, the internet, billboards, books, magazines, and any number of other sources. If YOU don’t decide what goes into your head, then someone else will. You need to take control of what you feed your mind. Here are some tips on how to adjust and maintain your attitude:

Eliminate the Negatives
Stop reading the newspaper
Stop watching TV news
Stop seeking the negative on the internet
Stop hanging around negative people

Introduce Positives
Start hanging around positive people
Start reading motivational or inspirational books – biographies, personal growth, success principles, etc.
Start listening to CD’s – motivational, personal growth, uplifting music, etc.
Does attitude really count? Can attitude really change your reality? I guess it depends on your perspective…

2010 – The Year of Positivity

There seems to be an increasing acceleration in many things in our lives these days. Life just moves faster. Technology advancements have a lot to do with that, being busier with work and family, having more interests and hobbies available, the internet with all of its social media applications, smart phones, etc.

I’ve also noticed that there is an acceleration happening around our collective ability to create, attract and manifest many aspects of our reality through our thoughts, beliefs and emotions. Over the past several months, I’ve read quite a few articles that describe the phenomena that is occurring in human consciousness right now. It is as if the limitations that govern our ability to powerfully influence how our personal reality shows up, are diminishing. In a nutshell, it is becoming easier to think, feel and speak our reality into existence.

If this is true, then there are a few important questions you may want to ask yourself.

Are you someone who has good control over your thinking and emotions? Do you have positive and supportive core beliefs? If we are in fact able to create our reality through these functions with increasing ease, then provided you do have good control over your thinking and emotional states, you will be creating mostly positive rewarding experiences quite easily and naturally.

Are you already an optimistic, positively focused person who easily sees the glass half full? Do you usually feel pretty happy and fulfilled, even when circumstances are not quite how you’d like them to be? If this sounds like you, then expect good things to continue to come your way. And if you aren’t already doing some reality creation, attraction or manifestation practice like visualizing or writing down your intentions and occasionally focusing on them, you might give that a try and discover things you focus on are showing up more and more easily.

If you are not a naturally optimistic person who generally feels happy most of the time, then I encourage you to consider making that change a top priority in 2010.

Because as our collective ability to create reality accelerates, if you are a negatively focused person, worry a lot, doubt yourself, experience a lot of unhappy emotions, etc. then life could get pretty bumpy for you moving forward. This process of acceleration is going to continue for some time, we have not reached the peak, and it will likely never go back to the way it was since evolution tends to move in one forward direction. I am not trying to scare anybody into becoming positive. Just pointing to an apparent change that seems to be occurring and offering some insight into what it means.

We live in a world that has a tendency to condition us negatively. Just watching the news will shift your emotional state to one of resistance and negativity. While there are pockets of positivity out there that you can tap into, you have to do that deliberately. And if you already are someone who leans toward the negative, pessimistic or even realistic perspective, then you are going to seek out the version of reality that corresponds to that level, and you will actually avoid the positive because it doesn’t feel comfortable to you given where you are currently thinking, feeling or “resonating.” This is an example of the idea “like attracts like” meaning we tend to gravitate toward things that we resonate with.

The good news is that it is actually possible to shift to a positive way of being in a relatively short period of time. Being negatively focused is a habit, and it can be broken and replaced with the habit of being positively focused.

But there are aspects or your mind and ego that will resist that change very strongly. So, what is needed are the proper tools to allow you to easily make this transition. As a WaveMaker Coach, I use several tools and techniques that are totally effective in helping people to make the shift to positivity.

Just reading some books or attending seminars will not likely cause a lasting change for you. What is needed is an ongoing structure that supports you over a period of time. Coaching is the best structure I’ve come across for making lasting permanent changes in your life and in your way of being.

I invite you to make 2010 the Year of Positivity for yourself. And, if you’d like some help with that, please contact me. I would be honored to be of service in this goal.
